Album

Today we recieved our album cover prototype and we're all really pleased with the outcome of the product.

Editing

Our wide shots were extremely hard to film as the background of the studio could be seen and colour change between the walls and floors were very noticeable.

However we managed to edit these shots to change this.

Here is the before and after:

 BEFORE

AFTER

As you can see from the two images above, we completely removed the background and added brightness and contrast to make it white. To do this, we had to add image files of blank white from photoshop and add it to the video file. It was quite difficult to make sure the images weren't obvious but were blended in properly however after a few tries, we managed to do it.

Editing Photos

Here is another example of editing our photos and different colour effects.

Editing Photos

For our album cover and website, we are going to need to airbrush our photos and edit them to make them look more professional.

Here is a practice version i tried to get our desired effect

Photoshoot

At the end of our video shoot, we took advantage of the fact that we were in a studio with many different backdrops and we did our photoshoot. Here are some of the photos we took with the different colour backdrops and with Harry wearing different outfits:

Call Sheet and Shot List

In order to prepare for the shoot and make sure we use our time efficiently, we have created a shot list and a call sheet.

Each person involved in the shoot has a copy of the call sheet so that in case of any situation, they know who to contact. We also have a shot list so that we can make sure we film every shot we need. The shot list is also the shooting schedule as it contains times so we know when each shot should be done by.

Dancers and Runners

We tried but we haven't been able to find a dancer to feature in our music video so we have decided that Bianca will be the dancer. It will work out much better because she is already dedicated to the project, she has dance experience and is a really good performer.

In order to help us out on the day, we have got some trustworthy people to help us set up equipment and do various other jobs on the day and have got them to sign a contract:

Costumes

Here are some costume ideas for the dancers in the video

Studio

After deciding against the Barnet studio, we searched online for other studios to see if any were suitable.

I emailed The Light Studios with this email:

They replied with this:

With the 10% student discount, this will bring the total for 8 hours to £148.50. So far, this is the best offer we have found and the price includes all the equipment listed on their website.

Inspiration

We are taking some inspiration from this music video because it has the same sleek and urban feel that we want to recreate. It has been filmed totally in a studio and has sexy female extras in it which are two concepts we want to include in the music video

Update

Hey guys

I've found a few studios that could potentially be the one we use

I've posted the links here so you can look around

http://www.mindstudio.co.uk/

http://www.holborn-studios.co.uk/

http://www.gapstudioswest.co.uk/

So far..

So far, we've discussed our shot ideas for the beginning and end of the song and have gone through the lyrics line by line and have noted down what we think the visual should be.
This has been very useful and we plan to have a group meeting tomorrow to try finish this off.

We have emailed the studio to go and visit it on Saturday at midday. We plan to take photos of the location and see if it is suitable and matches with our shot ideas.

Storyboard

Here is an extract of our storyboard we had pinned up on the wall in our edit suite.

Practicalities

The person we have got to perform in our video is the actual artist so therefore he already knows the song as it is his own.

Our club location is very local to both us and the artist and therefore eliminates any travel difficulties.

The Seward studio is in school and therefore easy to access.

One thing we have to consider is the large group of people that we need for our club scenes. We have limited the number to 20 so we can be organised and in control all the time. :)

Marketing Plan

The majority of our marketing plan will be online through websites such as Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.
The artist has accounts which are frequently updated this allows audience to follow or join and become fans.
Here, we are able to target our core audience and they will have the opportunity to pass on messages and share anything they wish with their friends and anyone online.
The music video of the single will be on youtube further promoting the song and attracting audiences.

We plan to create an artist website which will contain all information for audiences such as release dates for the new single, news on the artist, videos and recent photos.

Also an advert  further promoting the artist and single in magazines.

Plan B

Even though our group has selected a track we would like to use, we need a plan B incase our idea falls through.
We discussed for our plan B that we wanted to pick a different style compared to our first choice. We wanted either a girl band or female artist with a fairly upbeat song.
Here is a track that is upbeat and fun and we think would be a good choice for a music video.

Lyrics Analysis

Here is a copy of the some of the lyric analysis we did before planning our ideas for the video.
